Tudor’s legacy as maker of high-quality tool watches was cemented long before the brand re-entered the American market in late 2013.
The manufacture’s decision to tap its heritage designs when iterating its new collection has gone a long way toward creating fresh Tudor devotees and frankly, a darling amongst the enthusiast community. Whether it’s the Heritage Chrono inspired by the 1970s ‘Monte Carlo’ chronograph, or more recent examples such as the Black Bay 54, Tudor FXD, and Pelagos 39, Tudor’s modern lineup is a love letter to some of the very best sports watches of all time.
The Black Bay Pro had the internet buzzing when it debuted at Watches & Wonders in 2022. Drawing heavy inspiration from a design from the archivesof their elder sister company, Tudor added another handsome 39mm stainless steel sports watch equipped with a travel-friendly GMT complication to their already impressive catalog.
A Reference M79470-0001, this model features a 39mm stainless steel case with a fixed steel bezel with 24-hour engravings, sapphire crystal, ‘rose’ signed screw-downcrown, and 200 meters of water resistance. Its luminous matte-black dial features applied indices, Tudor's signature ‘snowflake’ handset, a yellow-orange ‘snowflake’ GMT hand, and a date window at 3 o’clock.
Fitted to an 'Oyster'-style 3-link stainless steel bracelet with a signed locking clasp and Tudor’s proprietary ‘T-fit’ self-adjusting clasp system, this piece is powered by the in-house, chronometer-certified MT5652 self-winding movement, which features a local-jumping hour hand.
